khunsanuk
Hi, "He said police caught breaking the law will be subject the same fines and penalties as any other members of the public." Ah, right, like being transferred to another precinct for accepting bribes rather than go to jail. Yep, same thing happens to 'any other members of the public'. This really is a fucking joke, isn't it? Sanuk!

bjon045
My girlfriend has a police officer for a father. Whenever she gets stopped for traffic violations (happens a lot!!!) she just asks if the cop can speak to her father and they just wave her on. Flashermac
I had a Thai colleague years ago who taught part-time at the Police Academy. The pay was peanuts, but she said she wanted to know a lot of cops. She added she never got traffic tickets!

OCgringo
How far does knowing a cop work ? say you are "friends" with a cop around Nana, does that have any weight in Chinatown ? Or Pattaya etc ? How high of a rank does the cop need to have "respect" from other cops ? I figure I should know this stuff so if I ever move to BKK I know which cop to kiss up to OC
