Ongchaiyai
I always go to "Super Rich" money changers for larger cash transactions (1,2 or 3k) they are an unofficial money changer in Pratunam - near Big C and the Kasikorn Bank. Never had a problem and always got a little more than anywhere else.
Orangutan
The money changer named Vasu on the corner of Sukhumvit 7/1 is long established, and used by many locals in the know. Rates always exceed posted market rates. -O

elef
I usally use either the Kodak shop outside Sabai Dee or the exchange booth inside Tops. The rate offered varies, but normally you'll get half the rate between buing and selling of what banks offer.

Central Scrutinizer
Cavanmi, Soi 22, it's the soi just after the Wash Sq soi. Same side as Wash Sq. Turn in the side soi and it is on your left maybe 2 or 3 shops in. Left side. I forget the name now. Was shown this a few weeks back by a friend. I'll be there tomorrow in BKK so if I am in the area (should be) I'll check the name/address. Cent
