Steve
It does work both ways and with the OJ trial and your unfortunate 'Uncle' it happens as well. With all due respect, it does happen more one way than the other usually. With our larger cities being predominantly minority now (the majority are 'minorities'? -- misnomer) you may start seeing it more on the 'reverse' side. The OJ jury sort of gives evidence to the disappropriate justice by the fact they felt the need to correct numerous past injustices. Its all wrong though. A case for 'professional' juries could possibly be made if it weren't unconstitutional.

Flashermac
He should know better than to mess around in Las Vegas. The city was founded by gangsters - who still have a big say in things. They don't care if he's a celeb or not. He could well be right about the trophies being stolen, but strong arm tactics don't work with folks who have a lot more "muscle" than he does. ..
The city was founded by gangsters - who still have a big say in things. Not so much anymore. The mafia have been pushed out by "legal gangsters" aka big corporations. Regards, SD

..
That's the problem. It was a much safer city when the mob ran it. They wouldn't take any shit from petty crims. Now it is overrun with them -- i.e., ex-wife's 10 year old convertible got stolen three times in a month a couple of year ago (and she lives in a very posh neighborhood, but once it was from a casino car park).
