One of the suspected junta tricks is to get undercover operatives to shave there heads and dress as monks. They then dope them up and send them into the crowds to stir up trouble to justify any acts of violence against the monks as retaliation. Absolute evil. I once heard the Burmese junta compared to the Nazi Party. Not a far stretch.

Burma monasteries in night raids

Witnesses say security forces in Burma have launched raids on monasteries and arrested scores of monks, as they try to stem a rising tide of protests.

About 100 Buddhist monks were reported to have been held when a monastery in the east of the main city, Rangoon, was stormed overnight, witnesses said.

Hmmm ... Hitler faked an attack on a radio station, having some German convicts dressed up in Polish Army uniforms and shot on the spot to provide the bodies for evidence. Then he attacked Poland "in retaliation".

p.s. Stalin gave him the green light. Wonder if the PRC said anything this time.

Burmese students in Bangkok rally outside embassy

More than 100 Burmese students are rallying outside the Burmese embassy in Bangkok in protest of Burmaâ??s military juntaâ??s use of violence on monks and protesters who took to the streets in defiance of a military-imposed curfew.

The march, spearheaded by tens of thousands of Buddhist monks, have so far led to an unconfirmed number of arrests, injuries and even deaths. So far there has been one confirmed death.

The students lashed out at Burmaâ??s military junta and demanded that it use peaceful means to contain the demonstrators, whose numbers have swelled over the past week.

They also urged China and India to halt their support for the Burmese government and called on Thais to join them in condemning the most violent political upheaval to have hit Burma in almost 20 years.

The student gathering has caused a serious traffic snarl around Bangkokâ??s Sathorn road and motorists have been warned to avoid the area if possible.
