Flashermac
I remember the squabble for a new flag in Canada. John Dieffenbaker branded the final design a "beer can label". p.s. The flag I could understand - the new bilingual anthem too, but going linear metric just to please the Froggies was over the top. Nobody drives to Canada from a metric country! Torneyboy
You think so..... surly we will get to vote on a change ... how are the families of the dead going to feel on Anzac day and a new thing goes up the poll..
Julian2
I agree with Barry actually, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The majority of the population are of English descent so the Union Jack shows that part of our history. The cost of the change worries me also, it must run into billions and I can't see it warranted. I suspect that a lot of our Republicans have Irish blood lines, with the hatred of all things British ingested through their mothers milk. Be a long wait for Liz to die anyway, her Mum was 101 when she dropped off the perch.
