SD,

I am pretty sure the cheapest in BKK has to be Sunday Brunch at Marriot Resort, that is if one can go on a four hour lunchtime session and get value for money.

It is not "pointless elitism and snobbery" as you put it, but a basic fact of life that happens the world over. People tend to socialise in places they feel comfortable at and part of the comfort comes from not worrying about whether your checkbin is THB650 or THB6500.

I am just as comfortable sat in the Bamboo Bar at the Oriental BKK or the Marriot Resort as I am in Pattaya Soi 6, Orchard Towers Sillypore and Itaewon in Seoul, occasional trips to alledged upmarket venues are not a sign of elitism and snobbery but a reward for the effort one puts into ones own life and career.

Rather than complain and bitch about this percieved elitism, which is affecting you much like penile envy, why don't you try and better yourself? Nobody gets offered anything on a plate, the more you put into the game of life the better the rewards. 28 years ago I was just some kid on a council estate in Salford who started an apprenticeship at the local oil refinery and now I happen to be a Consultant Engineer in SE Asia. It was fucking hard work getting where I am today, working in shitholes no one else wanted to go to, Algeria, Libya. Saudi, Yemen, Oman, Qatar desert locations and offshore locations working my arse off 14-16 hours / day 7 days / week.

We are not elitist or snobbish as you may think, most of us are grafters who have spent the last 20 odd years working our bollocks of to be in a position where we can have a comfortable life, just because you chose the "easy life" please don't come in here and complain.

If you want top play with the big boys learn to act like one!
