When they got to their room, they discovered that their bags had been gone into and about US$1000 was missing from a wallet. The fact that credit cards in the same wallet were left alone, as were a few other items of value, points to a pretty professional job. I know, we all know that putting cash into checked baggage is a bad idea. I left the question why he put it into the bag in the first place unasked. Airlines said their carry on was too big and needed to go on the luggage cart. When they got their carry on back from luggage cart money was missing. Keep your valuables with you at all times. gobbledonk Posted April 12, 2008 Report Share Posted April 12, 2008 Interesting POV here - I agree that I would never leave money (cash or whatever) in my checked-in luggage, but I have a much greater fear. The first question that Australian Customs ask is ´Did you pack this bag yourself ?´. Its worth the price of a couple of small locks to be able to say ´yes' as you unlock them. The optimist in me says that the handlers have many unlocked bags to choose from before that have to resort to cutting the locks from mine .... YMMV, Gobble (would like to see something similar to the ´glad wrap' they use in Jakarta, but no system will ever be 100% foolproof) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
