sayjann
glad to see that someone else recognises the weakness in the Dutch Defence. they are very good at counter-attacking but the Italians could have easily beaten them with chances created. VIVA ITALIA....... glad to see them go through at the expense of the dreadful French. the Italians are getting negative reports but they have played some good Football and i think they could surprise some people from now on. good Defence and quick on the break, but Del Piero is a better bet than Toni upfront. but watch out for Croatia............ limbo
[color:orange]Uh, Sayjann, I'm not sure what you read or what you are fed in England, but the Dutch coach after both the games against Italy and France said the same thing. On the other hand, statistics have shown this Dutch defence one of being the best for over a few years, looking at the amount of goals they conceded. Having said this, they are most definately the weakest point in the Dutch team and it's being widely discussed in the Netherlands. It was not only your genius that picked up on it.[/color]
Mentors
at the begin, i tip for Final Germany-Italy, maybe Croatia and we come nearer to that. I think, if Italy beat Spain, then nobody can stop the Azzuris (again). games today in Austria: Group D Greece - Spain Russia - Sweden
sayjann
we don't tend to get much info pre/post match on the games here in the UK,apart from team selection and the like. don't think i have seen an interview with any coach during the Tournament. my comments were based on what i had seen with my own eyes. i just don't go along with some of the hype about them playing the 'total football' of old. the scoreline against Italy was very flattering and while they demolished a poor French side they were wobbling at times and the French could easily have been the victims of a loss. group games are not a good indicator of how good any Team is. now we are about to enter one-off Games then we shall see how good they are. i still think Italy are being written off too early. if they play 2 upfront they would get more succes IMO and with Pirlo missing from the next Game it might be their chance. but the Italian mentality is defend first, score second so i think Donadoni could make a mistake with his next team selection. Dommanech looks like he's on his way out and no surprise to me. France are 1-0 down/reduced to 10 Men and needing to score and he takes off their rising star who is a forward and replaces him with a defensive Player..... Mentors
Uefa Judgment: German coach Jogi Löw is banned and have to sit on the tribune. And he can not get in touch with the squad inside the stadium.
