JayT
Thanks for all the feedback Seems like everyone is having a good time viewing their LOS DVDs except me and I have both the street-bought and store-bought varieties. I am not surprised that they can be played in Australia due to the ACCC's ruling that players which enforce region coding may be in violation of their Trade Practices Act, allowing them to be exempt. Strangely, my player is a Sansui, which was made in Thailand. It has a remote control so I will see if the manual allows for a multi-region setting as you suggest MM. sayjann
try this. an old website with only one Sansui listed but the hacks seem to work with a lot of different models of DVD's. http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/full/Sansui2500.asp

..
It is usually a "hidden feature." Google will be your friend in this case. Cheers, SD
Lusty
Some of you have a lot of DVDs. But it seems that my query wasn't clear. What I mean by "home" is outside of Asia--> buying in LOS and taking them to another continent. I've tried that before and they won't work because the DVDs are from a different region and not compatible with the domestic DVD playback machine. Does anyone know a way around this, short of buying a DVD player in LOS? If you have one that won't play or sticks and depixulates, copy it to your hardrive then burn it back(at X2 or X4) using ripping software such as decrypt or shrink and invariable the new copy will play.
