baan thawan gai yang on Ekamai

samak

Recommended Posts

location: mid Ekamai, from Big C hundred meters further up when coming from Sukhumvit on the left side

people come for food, not for atmosphere (sorry SD!); a simple outdoor restaurant with a roof, one could say. no fancy decoration, just food!

and it is cheap for all you inflation ridden folks and they have a menu in english for all you folks, who after so many years in LOS still can not read a thai menu!

gai yang (grilled chicken): 140 for whole, 70 for 1/2

many different larbs and nam toks: 50

som tam: 40

beer chang (large): 60

so a isaan feast for 2 is not more than 300-400!

menu is very extensive and goes beyond your usual isaan dishes!

They are open all night (like some places on ratchada)?

always wanted to ask: Why is your nickname Samak?

:dunno:

(I know you were on the board before the prime minister came to power)

Does it mean something special in Thai?
