sidsanuk
right on the beach and for this price you will only find accommodations far away from city center Don't mind being away from the City as long as there are places to eat nearby. Just looking for proximity to beach, peace and quiet, some deck chairs / food vendors on the beach, and restaurants close by. Is Hua Hin generally expensive? I can get the above in Jomtien easy for Baht 1,000 - 1,500. (even less) Nice Hotel, good rooms, nice pool, across the road from the beach etc.
Ryder
All Nations Backpacker guesthouse has pretty cheap rooms. But Hua Hin isn't as cheap as Hua Hin (some say). It's still worth a look though.
samak
yeah i would say it is slightly more expensive than Jomtien. still a lot of guesthouses for under 1000 THB available but none or smallish pool and quite a distance to the beach
Old Hippie
Decent rooms under 1500...many around 1000 but a lot depends on the season.
