Mentors
Police fire teargas at protesters again (BangkokPost.com) - Police fired teargas at People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporters, who surrounded the Parliament and blocked exits and entrances of the venue, to disperse the crowd on Tuesday afternoon. About 30 teargas were shot at protesters, and more than 500 police officers tried to break through the protesters to bring the cabinet ministers, MPs and senators out of the Parliament. They were trapped inside the building after attending the government's delivering of policy statement, which ended at 1pm. The teargas, which were fired at around 4.30pm, caused protesters to retreat from the site.
Flashermac
Got a call a few minutes ago from a friend who lives in my old apartment compound half a mile north of Suan Amporn and the parliament building. He said he can hear steady firing coming from that direction. Can't see what's happening, just that somebody is doing a lot of shooting.

Flashermac
Latest in the Post: << Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat fled parliament unceremoniously, climbing over a fence with his bodyguards to Vimarnmek Palace. But security guards of the Royal Household Bureau stopped around a dozen People Power Party MPs from following him, and announced only Somchai would be allowed to exit via the palace. State utilities workers cut off water and power to the parliament building. A generator could keep the lights burning only until mid-afternoon, when it ran out of fuel, officials said. Parliamentary staff and reporters were also locked into the compound. Police stood by, apparently under orders to do nothing. ... The government was frantic to read its policy speech - and the PAD was equally frantic to stop it - because the constitution says the government has no authority until it has issued a policy statement within 15 days of being sworn in. Somchai has now fulfilled that requirement, but it is unclear what his next step will be, since police and the army appear unwilling to use force to support him. >>

Mentors
Two policemen in front of Parliament were injured when someone among the protesters fire at them at about 7:50 pm. The gun firing prompted police to retreat back inside Parliament. One was fired at his right collarbone and the other above his right chest. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/read.php?newsid=30085384
