It would be very hard to "fix" a race by a well timed crash, at least without leaving any evidence of a coded radio message. Interesting that Piquet and son are both being charged with blackmail by Renault. Allegedly the Piquets were threatening to claim the race was thrown if Renault didn't reinstate Piquet Jr for the rest of the season. More seems to be going off of the track than on it! ThaiHome Posted September 14, 2009 Report Share Posted September 14, 2009 No doubt if Hamilton had got close enough, Button probably would have let him go by at the first sign Hamilton was going to try and pass. Button needed the points really bad and could not afford to go another race without any, especially with Barrichello wining. Any one else noticing on dominate the Mercedes engine is getting and how little in the press is being said about it? I thought it was very good race, and again shows the strategic and tactical genius that Brawn used to show when running Ferrari. One the Renault issue, the whole case hinges on accepting the fact that Piquet Jr can choose the point when he crashes.
