Pom Michael
The really bizarre situation is at Renault. It would be very hard to "fix" a race by a well timed crash, at least without leaving any evidence of a coded radio message. More seems to be going off of the track than on it! Breaking News! - Renault is toast it seems. Sept 16 - Renault said it would not contest the race-fixing charges and boss Flavio Briatore and director of engineering Pat Symonds left the team. Mentors
Agreement reached on sale of BMW Sauber team BMW Sauber’s hopes of staying on the grid next season received a boost on Tuesday after BMW confirmed it has reached agreement on the sale of the team. The German car maker is pulling out of Formula One racing at the end of 2009. Qadbak Investments Ltd, a Swiss-based foundation which represents the interests of certain Middle East and European based families, has agreed to purchase the team, based in Hinwil, Switzerland. Qadbak´s interest in the team will be represented by Lionel Fischer, a Swiss national. “BMW wishes Qadbak and the Sauber Team every success for the 2010 season and beyond,†said BMW in an official statement announcing the deal. The recent uncertainty surrounding BMW Sauber’s future means they do not have a confirmed entry for next season. However, the FIA has said it will be pressing for a 14-team field in 2010, with BMW Sauber guaranteed the final slot if the necessary rule changes can be agreed. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2009/9/9935.html The return of Lotus 2010 will see four new teams join the Formula One grid. Alongside Manor Grand Prix, Team US and Campos Meta, the revitalized paddock will also see one the sport’s most famous names return to the fold - Lotus, the result of a partnership between the Malaysian government and a consortium of Malaysian entrepreneurs. http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2009/9/9939.html Briatore and Symonds leave Renault The Renault Formula One team issued the following press release on Wednesday: The ING Renault F1 Team will not dispute the recent allegations made by the FIA concerning the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. It also wishes to state that its managing director, Flavio Briatore and its executive director of engineering, Pat Symonds, have left the team. trooper
So now it's official. Fernando Alonso replaces Kimi Räikkönen in Ferrari in season 2010. Amazing money paid by Santander. Full 30 million euros salary plus penalties for breaching the contract of about 15 million. Kimi has not yet confirmed his plans as he's only interested in continuing in F1 if he scores a deal with McLaren or Brawn. That means more salary . If I were him I would have said goodbye to F1 already.
