Khun_Kong
His Majesty King Bhumiphol is getting ready to speak on live TV. Some big ceremony. Thought he wasn't going to speak before his birthday eve. Maybe something important. Stay tuned.

Khun_Kong
Still waiting for the pomp & circumstance to end. Rather beautiful scene, lots of color, gorgeous setting crescent moon. Looks like he might just be reviewing the troops, though I don't know why that would be televised on prime time on multiple Thai channels.
drogon
Same as in UK, France etc... -> cf: 14 July, trooping the colors etc... Reviewing the troops make the soldiers happy -> because they then can see why they are fucking standing at attention for hours no matter if it rains, snows etc... drogon
I wasn't speaking specifically for Thai royal guards troops -> military around the world hate "parades" I am for my part want to thank the military for not having done anything "stupid" one way or the other... The Thai police is another matter.
beano
Do you think that the Thai police should have taken stronger action against the protesters?
Flashermac
They should have sufficient security at the airport to keep them out.
