:banghead:

Thanks mate. Many around here think *I'm* the evil commie/fascist/whatever for supporting the yellows in their quest for a decent gummint. Glad someone sees the light...

Cheers,

Protesters force Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva to move maiden speech

Thailand's prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has been forced to deliver his maiden policy speech at the foreign ministry instead of parliament after protesters blockaded the building for a second day.

The new government, which was sworn in last week, is confronting an economic crisis exacerbated by the recent blockade of Bangkok's airports. The policies Mr Abhisit will lay out are expected to include a £5.9bn spending package to support the collapsing economy.

Under the Thai constitution the government cannot begin work until its policies have been announced to parliament but protesters surrounded the building on Monday, forcing the address to be postponed.

On Tuesday morning MPs packed into a fleet of police vans in a second attempt to enter parliament, but when protesters refused to clear the way they moved to the session to the foreign ministry.

"The key point is we must have a quorum to do it and if we can avoid clashes and casualties that will be the best thing," explained the defence minister Pravit Wongsuwan.

Pics in yesterday's paper of the troops practicing to defend Swampypoom, should the Red Shirts attempt to sieze it.

Where were these troops when the yellows seized Swampy, playing cards in the basement?

BTW, got into Swampy around noon the day the yellows closed down the place and out around 17h delayed (crew got traffic problems to get there)

No yellow sympathisers amid the passengers that day :cussing:
