USVirgin
No can do. Home is where it REALLY costs a lot to take a taxi from the airport! I'd rather just haggle around Swampypoon, if you don't mind.

USVirgin
I am staying home, not that I want to. The above thing was a joke, as you probably know.

Weird
200 baht saved a couple times = another good night.. Mothing wrong with not wanting to get ripped off, even if you have the money to spare
drogon
Paid 45 euros just to come back from the airport.... and by the way, there is a 5 euros "surcharge" for the airport.... I suppose this explains why I don't complain about the transportation in BKK
samak
in Seoul or Tokyo you pay more than that! Hongkong can already be close
gobbledonk
Try KL - airport is 75km from town. Good for the first 70 or so on the freeway, but as you get to the CBD things get really nasty. Jakarta was actually surprisingly good - a lot of their congestion is down near the old Dutch quarter and right out on the freeway on-ramps. Must go back and take another look soon - 5 years is too long to ignore such a monster metropolis so close to Oz.
