cavanami
The Thais on the street would love to see the Baht at 40 or above...think back a few years when the Baht was 40+ to the US dollar...LOS was jammed with tourists, all the Thais had money in their pockets, the BTS and MRT were getting built and completed, etc Now, the Baht is strong, the BTS projects lingers on with delay after delay, tourism is down (for multiple reasons), the Thais mostly do not have money in their pockets, etc... Yeah, the Thais are so stupid. Nothing to do with a world wide resession. All they have to do is lower the baht to 40/USD and they will all have lots of money. Very strange they just dont do it. Indonesian Rupiah is extremely weak now. Seemt to be going very well there, right? So crowded with tourists that they soon cant cope with more... And before I get the usual comment from people who just dont seem to be able to detect irony, this piece is ironic. Paillote
