Faustian
My Macbook pro has stopped working, well the screen has anyway...I think the logic board is fried, or maybe the GPU...regardless it needs the attention of someone urgently. Can access the hard disk and have copied off data...now the repair... Where's a good reliable trusted place to take my machine for repairs in Bangkok please? Never had to do this before........anyone know?? Thanks.
Barry
Isn't there a mac shop in Paragon? They could tell you if they can't do it themselves..

Faustian
Barry, I think those are mostly just retail outlets...a chain around Bangkok. CTO, will check that, needs to be good! This baby needs some serious work

Faustian
Bizarrely after copying off my data, via my old ibook to an external drive, running some disc repair apps and generally deleting lots of crap, it restarted and the screen has come back on... From what I've since read there maybe an issue with the Nvidia GPU going flakey in some 2007/8 Macbook Pros...hmmmm Lets see how long it works before it craps out on me again. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll be getting a new iMac 4 core when they are released and will give this machine a break...it is online 24/7 and has been constantly for 14 months! Faustian
Well, I'm very impressed...they called me, said the logic board needed replacing (as I suspected) and they are going to do it for free! Just the service charge to pay. 3-5 days for the part to be ordered and fitted. They have my business for life. Awesome.
