He's intent on nationalizing the financial markets, education, health care, industry, housing...all socialist adventures in the name of "extraordinary" circumstances/alleged "crises". My point was that Obama isn't nationalizing the financial sector fast enough. Americans have a knee-jerk reflex to "socialism". So instead of giving taxpayers equity ownership of the banks via nationalization, we have all these schemes where the taxpayer takes all the downside risk with zero or close to zero upside. Apparently, it isn't socialism if we nationalize the losses only. It's way past the time to put all options on the table without dismissing them with loaded (and imo, empty) terms like "socialism" or "printing money" or whatever. If you look through the background info on Chris Martenson himself, you see that being a scientist he takes a different approach to his analysis. Another video you may find interesting is "The Money Masters", http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-515319560256183936. It was made in the mid 1990's even before the dot com bust (possibly by anti capitalist activists). A lot of the info is relevant to what's going on now, although some of the historical info has inacuracies. It's 3 hours long, but could be good to watch over Songkran. gobbledonk Posted April 1, 2009 Report Share Posted April 1, 2009 Obama is currently making a different set of noises re the previously 'too big to fail' car companies that have sucked up so much taxpayer money - interesting times ahead. I'm not sure what the crime rate was like in the 30s depression, but has anyone thought about what it would be like on the streets of any of our cities at night with, for example, 30% of the adult workforce unemployed (and potentially homeless) ? The companies making the coffins have admitted doing so and selling them to FEMA and the CDC. Truck drivers have been interviewed and said they have been trucking thousands of the coffins to these sites all over the usa. FEMA, which stands for Federal Emergency Management Agency, charter is to be prepared for when something really bad happens. After the Katrina disaster, they were severally slammed for not being prepared, including having places for refugees and preparations for large numbers of dead people.
