Hostiles (2017)

IMDb says: In 1892, a legendary Army captain reluctantly agrees to escort a Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous territory.

Well he didn't actually agree, but I digress.

- whilst this is a movie showing that the two enemies can become friends - heartwarming - it's also very good for the depictions of how f*cking violent and hostile the American country once was.

Rosamund Pike is very good.

Well worth a watch.

Rebel in the Rye

The life of celebrated but reclusive author, J.D. Salinger, who gained worldwide fame with the publication of his novel, "The Catcher in the Rye". (imdb)

Interesting movie.

Many of us were required to read Catcher in the Rye for high school.

Worth a look.

Into the Abyss (2011) - Conversations with death row inmate Michael Perry and those affected by his crime serve as an examination of why people - and the state - kill.

Director: Werner Herzog

I learnt a lot about 'merica

Well worth a watch.

And from the movie, Hostiles - a quote - "The essential American soul is hard, isolate, stoic, and a killer. It has never yet melted.†D.H. Lawrence

Black Water (2018) - Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Courtney B Turk, Jasmine Waltz.

Jean-Claude is old, complete with dyed chestnut brown hair so popular with olden men. and plastic surgery that still doesn't make him handsome.

But, this is a good movie, lotsa gun play, very little kung fu, in fact, only guns and knives. But for the premise, (black site in a sub under the water), this is prolly the best Van Damme movie I've seen.

Worth a watch.

The Commuter (2018) - Liam Neeson on a Train.

The man with a special set of skills on a train. Well it's better than that, still lots of blood, but a good flick this

I enjoyed it

Worth a watch.

Yes I just saw this - good - worth a watch, though I thought the lead male actor, overdid his brooding a little.
