However, many foreign countries are lower tax jurisdictions which means some Australians who earn income overseas are paying much less tax than if they earned income solely in Australia.

I think some Aussies will find this measure stupid, simply because the cost of living and salaries are different form one country to another.

Sounds fair enough. I guess now the contractors etc will work for a set up foreign company to just dodge the new legislation.

Why pay any income taxes if one is not in home country?

 

You are not using any of the services of home country.

 

Half of my taxes in my home country go to the public schools. I don't have any kids in these schools. Why should I pay for these kid? Let the people who have children pay for the schooling of such.
