Off to Laos tomorrow - and my fav hotel is booked out - I am curious to see how busy the place is compared to Thailand.

Where do you go, where will stay, what's your favorite hotel?

Please give a short trip report. I might go to LP August 27...

Thai tourists in Laos are by and large so fucking condescending to the locals...they waltz in like they're gods visiting the mortals on the lower plane...and of course the good-natured and baht-hungry Laos put up with up with it.

I love to put down Thais when I run into them in Laos, I insist on only speaking Lao to them, mildly insult the m*n*rch, all that fun stuff one could never get away with in Thailand, hahahaha...

I am back - how about Saturday - rumour has it another board member will be joining us ;)

I stay at the Day in - great old colonial building - walking distance to many places.

Weather was hot and sunny - given we left a flood area :(

Food and beer has gone up in price though - but still cheap

Found a new hotel on the river front I may try when not with the kids.
