MUGGING VICTIM DIES IN THAILAND

An Inverness woman who was mugged in Thailand a week ago has died in a Bangkok hospital.

Lydia Riach was to be cremated at a Thai temple after being pronounced dead on Sunday evening.

Her husband Douglas Riach will be returning home to Scotland with her ashes on Friday. Her death means that Thai police are now involved in a murder hunt. No suspects have been arrested but spokesman for Thai Police said: "We have a witness and leads. We will apprehend the killers."
