Flashermac
It tried various virus scans and the damned Windoze 7 finally simply locked up. Bizarre that in safe mode it showed only 7.9 gigabyte in use on the C drive, while in normal mode it showed 40.1! After it locked up, I couldn't even get into the safe mode again. I reloaded the damned Wind 7. Working all right now, but when I log on the internet the connection panel doesn't show I'm connected. Haven't figured out what to do about that. Instead of logging off, I have to shut down the #%$@! PC.
cavanami
Can you say Service Pack 1? Sounds like some bugs?
Flashermac
Managed to download the Avira virus scan. Ran it and nothing found. Then I updated the program, ran it again - and it picked up the TR/Vapsuk.uuk bug. Can't find anything on it on line, but it's obviously a trojan. Flashermac
Avira says it's quarantined it. Wonder if that's the bugger that caused all of the trouble.

shygye
Flash, Get VirtualBox. Then you can setup a virtual computer and use the virtual computer for surfing the internet. If the virtual computer gets infected you can delete the virtual computer and then create a new one.
