Mentors
Red shirts start marching from North, Northeast Thousands of red shirts from the North and the Northeast have started their march Friday's morning, expecting to reach Bangkok by Sunday. Those from the North are expected to converge and stay overnight in Nakhon Sawan while those from the Northeast will spend the night at Nakhon Ratchasima. Before departing their respective hometowns, the red shirts organised a series of ceremonies to pay respect to and ask for the blessing of deities revered in their towns. Colourful departure ceremonies were held in Chiang Mai. Lampang, Udon Thani and Ubon Ratchathani. In Chachoengsao, the red shirts flocked to pay respect to Luang Phor Sothorn, a revered Buddha statue. By midday in Bangkok, hundreds of red shirts have begun to congregate at five locations designated for cursing ceremonies to kick off the Sunday's mass rally. The five locations are Lak Si Circle, Taksin Circle, Lumpini Park, Bangna Intersection and Din Daeng Junction. Police have advised motorists to avoid routes to and from the five locations. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/03/12/politics/Red-shirts-start-marching-from-North-Northeast-30124536.html
Flashermac
Reds turnout in Nonthaburi About two thousand Red Shirts demonstrated in Nonthaburi on Friday, as the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) launched its final showdown against what it terms an autocratic-proxy government. [color:red]The pro-Thaksin protestors renewed their “final battle†on Friday starting with black magic rituals including burning chili and salt and prayer for success of their goal at the provincial city markers.[/color] Around noon they split into three convoys going in different directions within the province, the first route from city hall to Pakkred, Muangthong, The Mall, Big C Tiwanon, and Clock Tower at the Chao Phraya Pier. Other routes included Bangbuathong and Bangkruay. The Red Shirts drove their own pick-ups, cars or motorcycles, and some got lifts on the Red supplied trucks. Unlike the sophisticatedly-perceived Yellow-Shirt demonstrators, the Red Shirt protestors only repeated the same old scripts they had already knew before. The speakers did not prepare listeners with sophisticated issues, only slandering Privy Council chairman Gen Prem Tinsulanond as allegedly behind Thailand decline since the September coup and claiming that Abhisit was Prem’s proxy administration. The anti-government speakers were led by community radio hosts who did not elaborate on how the government supposedly mismanaged the country when they criticized them. They just called for the Red Shirts to gather in full force on Sunday and made sporadic attacks on CP owner Dhanin Chearavanond and the Bangkok Bank. Many passers-by waved at the convoy, including workers in restaurants, garages and groceries, as well as commuters waiting for buses. However, there some shop owners who turned their back to the Reds or waled inside of their houses. Prawit Rodee, a 54-year-old lawyer, said it was the first time he joined the demonstrations, though he has been following the group since the coup. “Judicialisation of Thai politics has gone wrong. The Feb 26 verdict is illogical. How do you confiscate assets that you already transfered to your children, who did not do any wrong,†said Mr Prawit. Kham Pao, 53-year-old former "Or Sor Tahan Pran" (voluntary military ranger) from Udon Thani, said it took him four days to reach Bangkok, as authorities put up checkpoints and deterred those who wanted to join Bangkok rally this weekend. Mr Khampao, one of the Red Guards, said he knew Gen Khattiya Swadiphol since he was a teenager during the Vietnam War, and said he had been called to support the Red-Shirted movement with other rangers. “We will undertake our orders till the end,†said Mr Khampao, who did not elaborate what they were. Nonthaburi is a stronghold of the former Thai Rak Thai Party, now Puea Thai. Elsewhere, the United Nations offices on Ratchadamnoen Road released their staff one or two hours earlier for traffic reasons due. The UN also allowed their staff to work from home on Monday. Government House and several government agencies around the strategic sites, such as the Education Ministry and the National Intelligence Agency, have been removing some important documents and belongings to other temporary buildings in prevention of possible lootings and occupation like what their staff had seen before during the demonstrations of the yellow-shirt People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) in 2008. {Translated somewhat from The Post reporter's "Engritch". )

ThaiHome
Well, despite the best attempts at the media to make today into really big, it appears to be rather anti-climatic at this point… At least there will not be an update to the massive traffic jam on Sukhumvit thread today. Wallenda
Don't have too wait. The videos are already coming out. Expect a bunch like this Link TH What he heck's going on in this video? I mean I can clearly see a red shirt guy beating a pink shirt guy with a bullhorn. Then the video suddenly cuts off well short of its supposed 2.51 running time. No idea why the red shirt guy attacked the guy, or who the guy was, what he was doing.

Pink is a king's shirt, if that had anything to do with it. The guy obviously wasn't red enough. Maybe he gave Thaksin's name the rasberry.
