They wear flu mask and were given water bottles in case they were fire tear gas at. The station said the demonstrators were not panic. Earlier BTS suspended only four stations near the Rajaprasong rally sites; Chidlom, Ploenchit, Rajdamri and Siam. All entrances and exits were shut down. Red shirts leaders told the cheering crowds that BTS is servants of Amataya, and urged the protesters to go and destroyed the stations. Shoppers were told to leave the shopping malls and go home. Police were also deployed to guard in front of Siam. The Post adds: A number of protesters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) have begun to block the Ploenchit intersection near the Chidlom branch of the Central Department Store with six-wheeled trucks, trailer trucks, pick-up trucks and cars to prevent government troops from moving to Ratchaprasong, according to television reports. Meanwhile, 40 companies of border patrol police were reported to have moved to the Ploenchit intersection where a brief clash took place and two soldiers were wounded. He said those important locations included the First Army headquarters, the Army headquarters, and the Sisao Theves residence of Privy Council chairman Prem Tinsulanonda. The Centre for Public Administration in Emergency Situations (CPAES) decided to do this at its meeting on Saturday morning when Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban raised concern over use of six-wheeled trucks by the red shirts to break through cordons of troops and police. The troops fired blank shots into the sky and threw tear gas canisters at the protesters, forcing them to retreat to Phan Fa bridge. The protesters retaliated by throwing wooden sticks and other objects at the troops. ----- The Nation says the troops blocked Pin Lao Bridge to prevent red reinforcements. Also ... "At 4 pm, Thai PBS reported live protesters battling troops at the Makkhawan Bridge. "Protesters armed with sharpened bamboo sticks were seen surging at troops while sounds of gunfire continued.
