Crowds on Walking Street ?

I posted about a month back re the sheer volume of people on Walking Street - I imagine that events in BKK and the Iceland volcano have put a dent in Pattaya tourist numbers. I'd actually find it refreshing to be able to saunter down Walking Street without dodging half of Europe, but business would be less enthusiastic. Anyone been down Walking St in the last week or so ?

April 10th and 11th. Walking Street 9pm until midnight, full of Chinese/Taiwanese tourists, plenty of Indians, what I took to be East European or Russian families.Life in the old dog yet!

Last night was Songkran night, so can not be used as an example of anything.

Thanks guys - I forgot that Songkran lasts for an entire week. radioman, the mix you describe lines up with the gawkers I recall seeing in March - maybe they just dont go home till the weather warms up ?

Walking Street was fairly busy last week.

still busy, around 15-20 arab looking chaps sauntered into LD1 and presided to bang there palms on the bar for service. same in sweethearts, with turk dude running around the bar doing body builder poses.

 

i have come to conclusion if BKK is "the big mango" then Pattaya has to be "the big toilet"
