KimDidMeGood
Sorry to start a new topic yet again but I think this last development is quite important: Veera says rally would end once PM announces House dissolution Veera Musigapong, the chairman of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship, announced that the protesters could go home once Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva announces House dissolution. "We are now waiting for announcement of House dissolution. The prime minister may announce it soon and we will get to go home," Veera told the crowd at Rajprasong. LizardKing
I already covered this in another thread. No, it is not over. The reds are bickering amongst themselves and have agreed to nothing.
Old Hippie
Agreed, it is NOT over, far from it. It may die down for awhile...but a certain inevitable event will start it all back up again and then some.
KimDidMeGood
Lizardking: I don't think it's the same info. Here, Veera apparently poses only one condition for the protests to end, that is specify a time-line for parliament dissolution. Earlier, the UDD was still talking about four points. OH: that's possible but I meant, is it over for this round of protests? Of course, arguably, we're just at the beginning of a period of significant mutations for Thailand, and it won't be painless. IMHO, it will be for the better, in the long run.
