well 'closer by' is always relative, but for me it's a 'sports club' a few clicks north of the mall...

I actually now stay along lad phrao these days on my trips (as opposed to Sukhumvit Road in the early days) and the place I stay has a nice pool in it, about 30 metres so you can get some laps in.

 

Bangkapi is not far, I will have to check it out when it is not peak hour. Always good to see the young thai girls in their swim suits.
