btw - This song 'Holiday in Cambodia' was released in the early 80s and was an attack on political correctness in its early stages. Though Jello Biafra was a strident leftie (and a wee bit crazy), he hated phonies and perceived the self-righteous Americans that originally supported the 'people's uprising' in Cambodia as thus.

 

So, the song illustrates the real brutality and cruelty of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia, and the foolishness of its supporters in the West.

Yeah, truly great lyrics that, unfortunately, didn't reach enough audience (or went right over their heads, self included). All it told me, at the time, was there was something really bad going on over there. Moving to Long Beach and later meeting so many Cambodian refugees confirmed it.

Watched at work on mute earlier. Just looked at it again with the music, it's a strange juxtaposition.
