khunsanuk
Hi, "Ei Sut - Bitch! (74%) (26%)" Uh... well, that shows me immediately the site is bollocks. 'Ei sut' (or as I would transcribe it 'Ay sat') means 'Animal' (with a really nasty preface). It is a serious insult, but anything starting with 'Ay' is directed at men, use 'Ee' for women. E.g. 'Ee hoy' or 'Ed dhok'. Sanuk!
Khun_Kong
I hear a lot of BGs call each other "ee NAME OF THE GIRL" (eg ee Naam, ee Ploy ee Nit). I think it's a bit like black Americans greeting one other with something akin to "Yo, nigger".
TroyinEwa/Perv
I don't......I think they are genuinely insulting the girl. I'm nowhere near a Thai language expert but I know "ee" in front of the name is a pretty nasty thing to say.
khunsanuk
Hi, No, no insults. Teenagers do this as well. What I also hear regularly is 'Ai [girl's name]' or 'Ee [boy's name]'. That too is not considered an insult. No idea why though Think it is more upcountry slang / colloquial talk. Sanuk!
TroyinEwa/Perv
Fair 'nuff. As I said, I'm no expert. I remember when my ex talked about my 2 other ex's (which she knew) she would refer to them as ee-xxxx or ee-xx. And she wasn't playin'.
Flashermac
Another site slapped together by someone who doesn't speak Thai worth crap. If you really want to see some howlers, read the Thai or Lao language advice on the SE Asian thorn of the Looney Planet board.
khunsanuk
Hi, Yes, but she likely wasn't close to those other girls, right? Using these words (as well as kuu, mung, man) is fine amongst close friends / family, but not with others. Sanuk!
