rookie
I've a friend in BKK who has thus far been unable to find fabric large enough to use as a backdrop for professional photo shoots. The area photo shops were of no help. Does anyone know of a commercial fabric mill or shop which can supply material that is 3meters by 4meters in length or longer? Wants white and other colors if available. thanks....
cavanami
Check in China Town. You might try to email: QandA@bangkokdigitalimaging.com Steve is extremely in the know about photography.
The_Munchmaster
Try home furnishing shops. They often have fabrics (in large widths and any length) for making up curtains.
Bangkoktraveler
most fabric is only a yard or meter wide so you wil have to sew some sections together. The cost for the fabric and the sewing should not cost you much. I would check out China town.
LizardKing
There's a fabric shop at the corner of Suk & soi 20. They have massive amounts of stock, including some long bolts...and a "closing sale" sign that has been up for almost a year now LOL!
rookie
Thanks...I appreciate the replies.. I've been trying to assist my friend for a while and he's diligently asked around BKK...to no avail. Best found is a bedding sheet mfgr who can supply cloth that is 2.8x3-meters. Not big enough! Stitching sections together won't work either as the seams would be visible to a high quality camera & lens. He's resolved to buy backdrops in the States, where they are readily available and have a friend bring over here.

Flashermac
How about Army surplus for some old cargo parachutes. You might also try Old Hippie's tailor.
