whats wrong with 1 man, 1 vote. The founders governed a largely illiterate and landless populace and the electoral college was invented for that. Witgg a 98% literate populace its outdated.

 

We could standarize voting and move election day to both Saturday and Sunday.

 

 

The original presidential voting never allowed one man one vote. Originally voting was restricted to land owners/property owners.

 

The founding fathers back then were afraid of the immigrants and the landless.

From the outside of course. What I have heard is that voters in US spin states are being flooded with ads. The media market seems to be so saturated that some SuperPac's can't get airspace anymore. I wouldn't want to be forced to watch tv or listen to radio in Florida:

The bipartisan Battleground Poll, in its “vote election model,†is projecting that Mitt Romney will defeat President Obama 52 percent to 47 percent. The poll also found that Romney has an even greater advantage among middle class voters, 52 percent to 45 percent.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney were virtually tied in a Reuters/Ipsos tracking poll released on Monday, with the Democrat leading by a single percentage point eight days before the November 6 U.S. presidential election.

 

Obama leads Romney 48 percent to 47 percent, a 1 percentage point drop for Obama and 1 percentage point rise for Romney from Sunday's tracking poll - still within the daily online survey's 3.9 percentage point credibility interval for likely voters.

 

"This is all movement around the middle," said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark. "It basically underlines the closeness of the race. I don't think it's going to be too different until the election."

 

The poll showed that 22 percent of registered voters said they had taken part in early or absentee voting. Among that group, 58 percent said they voted for Obama and 39 percent said they voted for Romney.
