If Willard was President

he would have stripped down to his magic underwear, said some magical incantantations,

and 'parted' Sandra right down 'the middle'.

HMS Bounty and her Captain along

with 35 other people would still be alive if Willard was allowed to convene.

Why didn't Obie One temporarily turn the Presidency

over to Willard so he could 'save the World'?

U.S. Prosperity Slides in Index That Ranks Norway No. 1

By Simon Kennedy - Oct 29, 2012

The U.S. slid from the top ten most prosperous nations for the first time in a league table which ranked three Scandinavian nations the best for wealth and wellbeing.

The U.S. fell to 12th position from 10th in the Legatum Institute’s annual prosperity index amid increased doubts about the health of its economy and ability of politicians. Norway, Denmark and Sweden were declared the most prosperous in the index, published in London today.

With the presidential election just a week away, the research group said the standing of the U.S. economy has deteriorated to beneath that of 19 rivals. The report also showed that respect for the government has fallen, fewer Americans perceive working hard gets you ahead, while companies face higher startup costs and the export of high-technology products is dropping.

FEMA, W.H. send storm victims to Internet

When President Barack Obama urged Americans under siege from Hurricane Sandy to stay inside and keep watch on ready.gov for the latest, he left out something pretty important — where to turn if the electricity goes out. :hmmm:

Despite the heightened expectation of widespread power and cable television failures, everyone from the president to local newscasters seem to expect the public to rely entirely on the Internet and their TVs for vital news and instructions.

President Obama will win re-election, with a solid victory in the popular vote as well as the electoral college, if a mathematical forecasting model developed by a Cal State Fullerton professor proves to be correct.

The model, which relies on a variety of state-by-state polls as well as historical polling data, predicts a popular vote total of 51.81 percent for Obama vs. 48.19 percent for Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

The model places Obama's electoral college total at 286, Romney's at 252, with 270 needed to win.

The forecast, produced last week, is unlikely to change unless "somebody does a big blunder" between now and Election Day, said Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Chandra Putcha – or the massive storm on the East Coast affects voter turnout significantly.

You do realize that this is all right wing trash blog/radio bulloney.

People were advised to evacuate areas. Those that stayed behind should have had a battery radio.

I listened to this over and over again on the right wingnut radio yesterday.

Then the "Jeep to China" story.

Repeated over and over again on the right wingnut radio.

None actually checked the facts.

Chyrsler did make Jeeps in China for decades. The Germans dumped that when they purchased Chrysler. Those Jeeps that were made in China were for the China market. Now, Sergio Marchionne wants to re-enter the China market. Not displace any US production.

GM sells more Buicks in China then the US. All Buicks sold in China are made in China.

All of the major automobile manufacturers have factories in China and those cars are made for China.

All manufacturers do make two models of the same vehicle. One for North America/Europe and one for the rest of the world.

The ones for North America/Europe have all the safety and emissions.

The ones for the rest of the world lack all of the safety and emissions stuff.

Much of the rest of the world still uses leaded petrol.

So what Romney stated was a complete lie. And Romney whose dad was in the automobile business knows that his claim is a complete lie concerning Jeep production.

Romney will say of do anything to get elected. Flip-flop is an understatement for Romney.

Hehehe, just shoot the messenger, if you don't like the message.

Anyway it's well known that in Scandinavia for example the education systems are ecxellent - much better than in Germany for example. They have nearly no drop outs. Kids with problems get personal support from year one. Math/language skills, e. g. are leading world wide.

Now look at USA where you have millions without a degree and who can't even read a newspaper. How will the USA be able to compete with countries like China where the society is obsessed with education?

IMHO that's a ticking (unemployment) time bomb.
