I usually take my dog with me crossing border.

 

A rabies certificate is required to cross border with dog.

 

My dog has a rabies shot by local veterinarian. It's a 3 year shot.

 

At border I get questions about the dog. Ask for rabies certificate. I have letter from vet. States all shots up to date with current 3 year rabies shot. Also have certificate signed by the vet.

 

I am told by border people that in order to enter I the dog must have a one year rabies shot letter/certificate. The letter states that rabies is a 3 year shot and up to date.

 

I am told that this letter signed by the vet is no good as it is not a one year shot. To enter dog must have a one year shot.

 

I point out the date on letter and the date for the rabies shot and in the vet letter it states a 3 year shot. All dates are current.

 

But I am told to enter the dog needs a one year shot.

International students and their teacher hoping to get a peek of Olympic National Park were met with surprise when instead they ended up being ticketed by the National Park Service for “violation of closure†– entering the park during the government shutdown, reported the Peninsula Daily News

 

Kelly Sanders, a sixth grade teacher from Port Angeles, Wash., took a group of six students, including two from Japan, and four other college students visiting from Indonesia, Hong Kong and China, to hike at Washington’s beautiful Olympic National Park over the weekend.
