kamui
Western European gummints are slamming the US for the absolute lack of security in their diplomatic communications. Was everything this open during the Cold War? Methinks 'twere not. Gotta believe that electronic communication is the big difference. You really can't steal 250k pages of paper and not be noticed' date=' but that'll fit on a thumbdrive just nicely.[/quote'] If I remember right the US introduced a new communication system after 9/11. Before the information was scattered all over the different agency, now they wanted to have all material available for all. I guess it's a very difficult balance between sharing and securing information - especially in the USA were so many bloated institutions are involved in national security, spying, etc.
Bangkoktraveler
USA's security is a national disgrace. After Septer 11, 2001, the USA should have secured itself so we would have safety instead - pursued the task of chasing down the boogey men.
