limbo
Am trying to get a spare battery for my notebook on the smallish island I live on but the 2 main IT retail shops claim they can't get them. Anybody knows if you can get those batteries in either Fortune or Panthip? My model is an Acer 4920, about 2 or 3 years old.

Pom Michael
Hey, I need a new battery for my Acer 4720. It will hold a full charge for a max of 10 minutes! Will be going to Fortune on Sunday to buy a new one - or look for a shop to recondition this one. Will let you know how it goes. Cheers!
limbo
Thx PM, much appreciated. My battery doesn't even hold 10 minutes anymore. According to the Acer Service Center, info as provided by KS, a new battery goes for around 3.500,-THB but needs to be ordered. Acer Korat had two in stock for my model! There's an Acer call center in Surat Thani, will try to contact them after the long weekend. Would appreciate an update from you PM.
khunsanuk
Hi, "a new battery goes for around 3.500,-THB" Shit, that seems excessive in comparison the price of a new laptop. Sanuk!
limbo
Yes, I know. It's still OK by me though, since right now the battery life is more or less non existent! A new lap top is due but is just out of budget right now.
Pom Michael
Acer service center in Fortune - new batter was THB 3,500 and 5 day wait. Right next door a shop had a real one for THB 2,200. They would recondition the old one for THB 1,800 - so the price difference for a new one wasn't so big so I just bought the new one. Works great again.
