Post Office box - and Safe Deposit box, in BKK?

Hi,

 

Forgive if these are stupid questions, but I couldn't tell from a quick net search.

 

Is it possible to rent a post office box in Bangkok (a central place to receive mail, if you were going to move a handful of times over the year)?

 

Also safe deposit boxes, can you pick one up? I'm not an official backpacker, but would like to spend some time trekking and if it's extended, would be looking for a temp holding place other than a hotel or apartment safe.

PO boxes can be had in most places. I have friends who keep boxes at Nana post office and visit once or twice a year.

 

Not sure about safe deposit boxes. Maybe Thai post has such a service but other than banks I don't know where else you would go. Try Bangkok Bank on Sukhumvit between 8 and 10, they have a big safe deposit room.

Every bank I have been to in BKK has a waiting list to get a safety deposit box.

 

I was told that there is a private company/business near Silom, Sala Daeng, in that area where they have them available for rent.

Thanks guys. Didn't realize the PO Box was that easy. Safety Deposit box not as important but if it's not a hassle wouldn't mind having one. Otherwise will keep small emergency stash with friends.

I recall a safety deposit box facility in an office building on Rama IV, around the corner from Suriwongse Road (you had to climb a flight of steps to the buildings entrance). Was a long time ago though so may not be there any longer.

There has been a company offering boxes of any size on the Stickman`s site . Bear in mind any companies could cease trading and what happens then with your stuff .
