dvarpala
Looks pretty good - timing of release spot on too... Its been said that Tolkien's work was the start of the whole "fantasy" genre - just a shame that there's so many by-the-numbers authors out there... Pity its not authorized, it would fit in well with a boxed set of the whole Hobbit/LOTR saga
waerth
With permission from Tolkien's estate? No not permitted, read the disclaimer. But certainly tolerated as they have done nothing to "stop" it. The movie has won many prizes and over 10 million people have watched it. Steve
I was never really interested in Gollum. The book talked about him and I would probably not want to see his slow (maybe not so slow) slide into insanity. Maybe because it would mirror mine..lol. I would like to see a movie about Ranger's life. Also, a movie about Gandalf's life. Isn't he old as hell, I'm talking a couple hundred maybe? waerth
I believe Gandalf was supposed to be almost as old as the arrival of the first elves. He played a part in events 1000 years earlier according to the books. I am sure we can shoot a nice movie here You write the script.
Julian2
Gandalf arrived in Middle Earth about the year 1000 of the Third Age. He told Frodo about the Ring in 3018. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Arda

Bangkoktraveler
I think the peron who played Gollum in the original movie is the same person who plays Caesar in the new Planet of the Apes movie.
