Flashermac
I remember a girl named Usa whom the others students called Miss U.S.A.
Julian2
Everyone calls my neighbour's wife something that sounds like Ell, but when he mentions her in an email to me he spells it Ew. Just another case of one man's hearing isn't another man's pronunciation?

gobbledonk
My Fave was "Lamb Pie" so named because her Thai name was Lum Phai or similar... They seem fond of the Thai names for 'Apple' and 'Water', too - so very Hollywood !

khunsanuk
Hi, The Thai soaps seem to go totally overboard with nicknames. Some that come to mind: - Superman - Look cin (the little meatballs in noodlesoup) - Ninja Sanuk!

Some that come to mind: - Superman - Look cin (the little meatballs in noodlesoup) - Ninja Sanuk! The best name, not nick name, I have come across was Supraporn. She even gave me her business card which had that name. She worked for UPS Thailand.

I dont think 'porn' has any of the connotations we attach to it in Farangland, but I've always considered 'Traci' to be a porn name for Farang women, along with Ginger, Trixie (!) and Chantel. Seriously, does anyone give their kids names that sound like they just finished a 12-hour shift in a brothel ?
