The_Munchmaster
How effective would the sandbags be against flooding? Surely water would still get through any gaps between them, of which there must be many?
Flashermac
Still, they'd be better than bags of flour or sugar.

kamui
Hi, Uh, by reporting ONLY on the areas that have seen no flooding at all? Sanuk! Most foreign tourist neither have an understanding of the geography of BKK nor of the flood situation in and around BKK. Therefore I think Stick is doing a good job by reporting on the areas of interest for his reader ship, i. e. the sex tourists. Most of them seem not to venture outside the Suk area anyway. The only question he didn't answer is, if the palace and the Golden Buddha can be visited, which is needed as an photo op for the wife which stays at home. But maybe a photomural in a bar will do. Flashermac
I'd toyed with the idea of making CDs with photos of the tourist spots to sell to men who never get outside of the Soi Cowboy-NEP ghetto. You wouldn't want them to look to professional, just the sort of thoughtless snaps the average tourist takes.

Julian2
How effective would the sandbags be against flooding? Surely water would still get through any gaps between them, of which there must be many? Sandbags will never keep all the water out but are still a very effective way of containing floodwater. They are also handy to hide behind if anyone is shooting at you and the empty bags make useful makeshift hoods for prisoners of war.
