In the early 70's, Dionne Warwick came to a small, hick, armpit of america town called Lowell. I was there in college at the time during some of the worst yrs of my life. She gave a one night stand concert in the school gym. It was reported in the news that she brought the house down that night. Years later, they were asking her about the best audience she has ever performed for and she said that that one night stand in Lowell was the best.

Lowell, Massachusetts. University of Massachusetts at Lowell is there now. When I was there in the 70's, it was called Lowell Tech. It was an old mill town still trying to get over the Great Depression of the 30's.
