Dexi
Seems like this recent suggestion for Assad to give up his chemo stocks is a good solution for all parties involved.......For Assad he avoids US strikes that could be very painfull for his regime and possibly him personally if he just * happened * to be in the wrong place at the wrong time .Also the process will probably involve UN inspectors and the whole thing could drag on for months giving him room for manoevre.......The Ruskies avoid a head-on confrontation with the US and get to keep their strategic ally in the region......Obama avoids potentially losing a vote in congress and having to launch an unpopular and risky strike on Syria......everybody wins.....except the ordinary people of Syria who will continue to die in the conflict. Flashermac
Assad may have thrown him a lifeline - and vice versa. Flailing Obama slumps to lowest ratings of his presidency, as US voters see him as ‘a weak and indecisive leader’ On Tuesday night President Obama will deliver one of the most important political addresses of his presidency, trying to convince a war-weary American public to support his call for military intervention in Syria. Having casually drawn a red line in the sand on the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime, Obama’s own credibility – not that of the United States – is on the line. But he faces an uphill struggle to win over public opinion, and is almost certainly heading for a heavy defeat on Capitol Hill, where opposition is mounting among Members of Congress. ... http://blogs.telegra...ecisive-leader/
Plainsdrifter
I guess when Iran finally completes building its atomic bomb, the US will persuade them to give it up to international control, just like Syria is now doing with its gas. acockasian
*sight* sorry, but you got most of the facts wrong..... Assad studied to be an eye doctor but gave up to return to Syria. His wife was born in Syria, her dad is Syrian and mom is British, and she studied in the UK. Could you please elaborate on how different Assad is from Saddam ? BB It is not “sightâ€. It is “sighâ€. Yet again you are wrong so go ahead and start your insults and name calling. According to the Telegraph his wife was British born. Funny post of yours Your rant and personal attacks aside, what was your purpose ...? Yes, she is British born (not a compliment for my British friends though) I just remembered she was from Holms, whereas it happens her family is from.....so what ? Does SpiceMan has the same right for a full blasted bullying post for his dentist mistake ? no no no Only your obsession with me deserved a full blast As usual, I'll post in any thread I choose to, and you'll do what you do best, attack and rant all over me...... Over to you. BB

acockasian
Over to you. BB Your rant and personal attacks aside, what was your purpose ...? -To correct false information before you started your standard pattern of insults and profanity, then reverting to your usual victim persona when your aggression fails or you perceive a challenge. Does SpiceMan has the same right for a full blasted bullying post for his dentist mistake ? -There are sources that state, incorrectly, that Assad is a dentist so SpiceMan was not wrong. Bullying implies that you are the victim which is not the case here. Your incorrect correction was corrected – grow up, be a man, deal with it. Only your obsession with me … -You make more mistakes than anyone else on the board. You lash out with insults and profanity far more than anyone else. I don't know what went wrong in your childhood but your attitude in Thailand will seriously backfire on you in the event you ever do live here. In case you haven't noticed I've made an effort to not post in threads you are posting in but this thread is an important topic and one that I wish could only be about Syria. Not about you or your issues. As usual, I'll post in any thread I choose to … -As long as KS and the mods allow it yes you will. Unfortunately, regardless of whether you have anything to contribute. For you, sadly, the fact that you can post is what counts – not the content or accuracy of your post. When you stick to emoticons you do just fine. Back on topic, what can you tell us about Syria, the country named in the title of this thread? I'm sure that you've met and had soup with Assad and his wife 70 to 80 times and they know you well. The Syrian lentil and spinach soups are great!
acockasian
It seems you personally dislike BB and don't want him to post except something you agree with. It isn't that. I hope he continues to post as eventually when he is in Thailand full time it will be entertaining to read about his life. There are actually bets on this.. It would be great if the posts could be about the subject and not about his superiority as I do intensely dislike the pattern: aggressive comments, fact that they are incorrect pointed out and/ or he perceives a challenge, then profanity and whining he is the victim. More name calling and profanity. In the last two month: comments about a bar owner he did not see being mostly drunk, life insurance not existing before WWII despite links proving him wrong by one or two other posters besides mine, now in this thread he corrected a correct statement made by SpiceMan with incorrect information. We are now in the whining-victim stage. It will be profanity in a few more posts and then the mods will have to delete it. Not even going to comment on profanity directed at extremely powerful Thai nationals who could crush him and ruin his sad life with one phone call. When I am wrong I try to accept it and do tolerate other points of view. To that end I even sent you a link that backed up something you said about Russia. A subject I don't know much about and admit I could be wrong on. But Syria...what about Syria! Have you ever had Syrian soup?
