I think the goal, if it does go that far, is to just leave the country more or less dysfunctional like Libya is now. Rebuilding not necessary in a collapsed state. All this easier said than done. I see the discussions on turning over the chemical weapons going nowhere fast, forcing Obama to put his money where his mouth is.
