ICAO has its regional centre in Bangkok. Plenty of foreign experts on hand to help out. As we know and see on a daily basis Thailand is very good at talking the talk. What everyone awaits is to see real steps(sic) toward walking the walk.

As a p.s. Here I wonder how insurance companies see these downgrades. I doubt they would miss the opportunity to inflate premiums based on an increased risk no matter how tenuous the argument. Yet another way to shoot the golden goose it seems.

PM orders Civil Aviation Department to hold urgent meeting with airlines

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the Civil Aviation Department to hold an urgent meeting with airlines after two Thai airlines failed to win approval from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau in time for their chartered flights, Deputy Government Spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Monday.

Prayut wants to the department to make sure that there will be no mishap like what happened to the Asian Airline and Nok Scoot Air last week.
