waerth
Great news! If they pull it off they will be the first commercial company and prolly the biggest payload delivered to Mars .... http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/27/11514844/spacex-mars-mission-date-red-dragon-rocket-elon-musk SpaceX plans to send its Dragon spacecraft to Mars as early as 2018, the company announced today — marking a major first step toward CEO Elon Musk’s goal of sending humans to the Red Planet. The company didn’t say how many spacecraft it will send, but hinted it would conduct a series of these Dragon missions and that it would release more details soon. In a tweet, the company indicated that the capsules would fly on SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket, a bigger version of its Falcon 9; the rocket will launch the capsules to the planet to test out how to land heavy payloads on Mars. If successful, the endeavor would make SpaceX the first private spaceflight company to land a vehicle on another planet.

waerth
They have had 4 successful landings of the rocket. Something no one else has done before. 2 of which were under very difficult circumstances at which they expected failure but pulled it off anyway. This is just one relatively small setback. Watch SpaceX as they will probably beat any govt in sending humans too Mars. And they better hurry up before Trump and other right wing nuts on the rise in the world destroy the planet
Flashermac
Trump would want to deport the Muslims to Mars. Well, it should look like home to them. (A bit cooler though.)
My Penis is hungry
Waerth, the funny thing is, while Musk makes claims about it cutting costs, he's not cutting costs, so I am dubious still. Space Shuttle re-used many times, this isn't a "first' the only thing being unique is it lands itself using thrust, as opposed to just chutes.
