Women Press Freedom strongly condemns Thai politician Prawit Wongsuwon for slapping @ThaiPBSWorld journalist #DuangthipYiamphop as she approached him with a question. This violent behavior is unacceptable, especially from an elected official. We demand immediate accountability and justice for Yiamphop. Assaults on the press must not occur with impunity.

Just further evidence, as if any is needed, that, as mentioned in another thread, The Old Guard are running scared

Lashing out at journalists just doo g their jobs indeed, Prawit, or General Prawit to give him his full title, for those who need reminding, was General Prayut”s  right hand man during the coup and he has a reputation for never attending house sessions, citing health issues.
He didn’t attend the session to endorse Paetongtarn Shinawatra as Prime minister, deciding instead to go and greet the Thai athletes back from the Olympics. The journalist politely questioned this decision and he decided to dust of his Muay Thai skills

IMHO the journalist should have asked “Why are you taking a 113,560 THB per month MP salary plus Expenses, Medical and Pension if you are hardly ever at a house session” I could understand him getting moho at that, but why did you choose to miss the important vote to go Survanibhumi for a photo op with returning athletes, is such an innocuous question
