Fidel
That is a truly shocking site.... I think everyone fears AIDS but few people have an idea of it's effects and symtoms... this site proves that fear of AIDS is justified.
Guest
in thailand there is not so much talk about this cause they are afraid of scaring the tourist away, also would be a really bad memory you bring back home from a good holiday. Guest
you can go there actually yourself. it's an, lets say, overwhelming experience. there is a shop where you can buy the patients some drinks, like milk or fruitjuices, talk with them a bit. they will be happy that someone spends some time with them. the temple works on donation base, so visitors are essential. it is grim there, but not as bad as the pictures make it look like. you have people in the process of dying next to others who are still relatively healthy in appearance, who try to hang on, try to enjoy the bit of time they have left. some important lessons to be learnt there. racha
the rate of new infections is actually decreasing now in thailand because of the very open way thailand tackled AIDS from the onset. I agree what your saying though would change the wording to after the onset as Thailand was slow to get going on the AIDS problem before they did anything to slow the infection rate down.
