sanukdee
I know an optometrist here in Alaska that had laser eye surgery! He prescribes and sells contacts and eyeglasses and is very happy with the results of his laser surgery. One of the best reasons why I'm considering doing it myself. Hidy Ho
sorry but i think this laser business is crap ...just wear contacts lenses i wear glasses during the day and if going out at night usually pop in contact lenses... [color:"blue"] You have such a gentle manner of expression :: I'm sorry to say I've read your advice a couple of years too late! I got crapped on and am now a proud walking victim of a successful PRK surgery in USA so now all the spec I ever needs are these :: [/color]

Guest
Does that include 2 eyes or only one?
Guest
Sidsanuk, The critical point here is: what is the right question to ask? In my opinion the right question is this: what is the risk to the eye after surgical cuts made by a laser, 10, 20, or 30 years down the road? Answer: no one knows. It hasn't been around that long. What that says to me is this: the rewards (no eyeglasses) are not very great, while the there are some significant short-term risks of eye damage and the long-term risks are completely unknown. Therefore it is a bad decision. I notice that none of the public discussion (marketing by doctors) even mentions the long-term risks. But I guess that's capitalism.
